Filming

Today we filmed the first half of our short movie 'the note'. We filmed the main school scenes which were the girls finding the notes, the girls talking about the notes together, and the girl getting kidnapped and the other two looking for her. From this I found that it takes quiet a lot of time to film and get the shots correct, even with the storyboards. In addition to this we also gave the actors a few lines to remember. Overall I feel as if we fulfilled quiet a lot today.

Today we decided that it was best if we changed our story but keep the genre. This is because our previous story had a lot of loop holes in it and also because it didn't make any sense e.g. the friends going on a random camping trip in the woods. This wasn't realistic enough so we tried to adapt it so the girls had a sleepover at a friends house. We then realised that then would also be to complicated as there would be no way of keeping the murder anonymous from the other friends. What have we done so far?

So far we have had practise filming with the DSLR cannon cameras and filmed a short film which was 2 minutes which was based around the idea of 'the secret'. Prior to this we were shown how to put the DSLR camera together which we then had to do ourselves alongside instructions just for help. We were shown how to focus the camera in and out of the shot which would help us later on when we came to the actually making our short film.
